Delete your Cartrack Digital Logbook account
This page explains how to delete your Cartrack Digital Logbook account and the
personal data associated with it, as required for users of the Cartrack Digital
Logbook mobile app (nz.co.cartrack.digitallogbook), provided by Cartrack NZ Limited.
Delete your account in the app (fastest)
- Open the Cartrack Digital Logbook app and sign in.
- Open the menu → Settings → Account & Security.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm with your PIN.
Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out.
If you can't access the app
If you can no longer sign in, email privacy@cartrack.co.nz from the email
address registered to your account and ask us to delete it. We may need to verify
your identity before actioning the request, and we will respond within the
timeframes required by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What is deleted, and what is kept
When your account is deleted:
- Your identifying personal details are removed immediately — your name,
contact details, driver licence details, and date of birth — and your account is
deactivated so you can no longer sign in and you are removed from operators' rosters.
- Your retained work-time records are de-identified — the precise GPS
coordinates of your activity are erased, leaving only the town/locality of each
event that New Zealand transport law requires a logbook to show.
- Those de-identified work-time records are kept only for the legally required
retention period (at least 12 months after the last entry, under the Land
Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks 2007), because transport law does not
allow us to destroy logbook records sooner. After that period the remaining
records are permanently and automatically erased.
